Photon Editing Service was created in 2019/20 by Jessica Cross [Jess-Liz Cross] as a way to keep herself occupied during the school holidays of her final year of high school. During the COVID-19 lockdowns of 2020, shortly after she started her time at university, Jess began getting clients and her self-made business began. Since then, Jess has become a full-time author and editor, dedicating much of her time to her own works and helping others with theirs.
 

Our sole editor is Jess. She has a background in creative writing, the professional world of editing, and tutoring in the English subject. She also has interests in other subjects including Literary Studies, Indigenous Studies, History and Culture, Geography, Ancient and Modern History, Mythology, Psychology, Social Sciences, Historical Architecture, and the STEM subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Astronomy and Astrophysics. Jess has experience in editing novels, novellas, short stories, flash fiction, essays, speeches, comprehension, short answers and poetry (though she has a personal dislike of poetry).
 

Photon Editing covers all areas of editing (developmental, structural, line, copy, mechanical, proofreading) with focus on whichever Package the client requires.

Our goal is to help our clients pull out the full potential of their piece, whether it be academic, fiction or nonfiction. We aim to provide our clients with the best attention possible to their pieces with a main focus on improvement and betterment. Should the client give us their permission and/or be ready for publication, we do our best to advertise for the client and their pieces to drive interested parties toward them.

As you may have noticed, Photon Editing has a general space theme. This can be seen from our name to our packages. This is due to Jess’ interest in astronomy and astrophysics, something of which she uses in her own writing and finds fascinating. The space theme is something that has remained continuous across the development of Photon Editing in its starting years.

Photon Editing does its best to be active in writing communities, not just to make money, but to help upcoming and established authors continue to grow and improve in their writing abilities as they begin or continue their life paths, whether that be in the Creative, STEM or Academic industry, or any crossover there may be.

P.S. We are aware that our status as a Wixsite may deter people from trusting in our services. We would like to inform potential clients that we take our work very seriously. The only reason we don’t have an official domain is due to a lack of expenses. When we are able, we will be making this site an officially owned domain.
